Successful relationships take work. We’ve all heard that, but we don’t always know what to do. Most of us weren’t raised or show what healthy relationships look like from day to day.

It is so hard to be directly at odds or not feel like you’re on the same page with someone who matters. Both conflict and avoidance are detrimental to relationships. Yet it can feel impossible to break the cycles.

I help individuals decide what they want in relationships because there is a lot to consider. If you want to get closer to them, I will guide you through the process to look at how what you can do to improve both how you feel towards the person and how to communicate effectively with them.

You don’t need them to change because you have the power to make a positive difference in the relationship. I will show you how.

  • No, I am trained to work with individuals.

    There may be times when we decide to invite another person into a session with us so you can communicate with them with my support or share a new skill you are learning. This can be quite powerful and changing.

  • It all starts with focusing on a particular relationship or challenge you have with communicating.

    You will learn new ways of thinking about relationship problems. We will explore past hurts and feelings of anger or blame.

    I'll give you lots of empathy and understanding and help you decide if and what you want to change about yourself. As I teach you to communicate in a more compassionate and effective way it can break cycles of errors that benefit you both.

  • I am probably not the one for you. That it is such a painful situation to be in, and I feel compassion for you. I would need to know more about your situation.

    Since I only work with individuals I would probably recommend you see someone trained to see you together, such as a therapist who is skilled at working with couples in high conflict.

  • Absolutely! I suggest that anyone working on communication or relationship work purchase Feeling Good Together by Dr. David Burns, either on Amazon or in a bookstore. It works for all kinds or relationships.

    You may also want one of his other books, either Feeling Great or When Panic Attacks.
